Live Nation hires merchant banker as Chief Strategy Officer

Jordan Zachary has been named Chief Strategy Officer of Live Nation Entertainment, reporting to President and CEO Michael Rapino.

Zachary joins Live Nation from The Raine Group, where as a managing director of the merchant bank, he collaborated with Live Nation‘s team on its festival strategy, and was a key part of recent Live Nation deals, including the acquisition of C3 Presents and the programming partnership with VICE, where he also holds board affiliations.

“As we continue to drive our global market share, bringing on Jordan who has deep expertise in the live music and media industries will help us accelerate the growth of our concerts flywheel and find additional ways to build our high margin on-site, advertising and ticketing businesses,” said Rapino.

Zachary said: “Michael has built an unparalleled platform with tremendous assets, and today more than ever, Live Nation is positioned to shape the music industry. The Live Nation team is world-class, and I am excited about contributing to the company’s continued growth and plan.”

The Raine Group is a global merchant bank focused on technology, media and telecommunications.

Throughout his career, Zachary has executed a variety of mergers and acquisitions, capital raising transactions, and strategic assignments for clients in the media, entertainment and digital media industries.

In addition to taking on operational and strategic roles with advising executive teams around the world, he has worked in the global media investment banking groups of Lehman Brothers as well as UBS Investment Bank.

Zachary currently serves on the boards of Margaritaville and C3 Presents, and is an observer on the board of directors of Vice Media and Important Studios.Music Business Worldwide
