Live Nation acquires again in Latin America, buying majority stake in Bizarro Peru

Live Nation Entertainment is set to make a majority investment in Bizarro Peru, one of the country’s top concert promoters.

Bizarro has produced and promoted concerts and live experiences in Peru for both international touring artists and top regional talent with a focus on Spanish-language music.

The investment expands Live Nation’s presence in the Peruvian market, with Bizarro Peru and Live Nation’s existing Lima-based team to operate as a unified local organization.

The deal further reinforces Live Nation’s “long-term commitment to building live entertainment across Latin America”, having ramped up its presence in the market since its 2021 acquisition of Mexican concert promoter OCESA.

As well as upping its stake in OCESA from 51% to 75% in a USD $646 million transaction last summer, the company secured a majority stake in Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile, last month, and also acquired Colombia’s Páramo Presenta in 2023.

In May last year, Live Nation acquired SD Concerts, a live entertainment company in the Dominican Republic.

Live Nation CEO and President Michael Rapino said: “Lima, Peru is the fifth largest city in South America and an increasingly important destination for artists touring the continent.

“Partnering with Bizarro Peru allows us to strengthen what already works, support their local expertise, and bring even more great shows and live experiences to fans in Lima and across the country.”

The partnership will see Live Nation work closely with Bizarro Peru’s leadership team, alongside the existing Live Nation team in Lima led by Alberto Menacho, to strengthen local operations, expand programming, and bring more top tours to the region.

“Our partnership with Live Nation in Perú marks an exciting new chapter for Bizarro Peru.”
