Independent distribution platform Secretly Distribution has appointed Kristian Davis-Downs to the newly created position of Head of Digital Content.
Davis-Downs joins from AWAL where he was Senior Director, Label Integrations.
He will work alongside Secretly Distribution’s long-standing Head of Digital Sales and Marketing Charley Kiefer to lead the company’s expanded global digital strategy.
Based in London, Davis-Downs brings two decades of operations, logistics and data management to Secretly and will have executive oversight across key technology initiatives.
At AWAL, Davis-Downs created the Label Integrations department where he led a team that developed multiple client-facing content management and onboarding tools.
Prior to joining AWAL, Davis-Downs was a fundamental contributor to the digital infrastructure of the Beggars Group.
In his new role, Davis-Downs will lead Secretly’s digital content team as the company positions content management and analytics systems to meet the needs of its global independent label and artist roster.
Based at Secretly’s HQ in Bloomington, Charley Kiefer, Head of Digital Sales & Marketing, is an eleven-year veteran of Secretly who has spearheaded digital operations and marketing efforts across a decade of growth for the company.
Playing a lead role in digital strategy for acts such as Bon Iver, Sharon Van Etten, Mac Demarco, Tycho, Crumb, Phoebe Bridgers, and Sufjan Stevens, Kiefer will focus his efforts exclusively towards expanded marketing services for the label group.
