Kobalt signs worldwide publishing deal with the McCoy Tyner Estate

Kobalt has signed a global publishing deal with the estate of the late renowned jazz pianist, McCoy Tyner.

The agreement includes administration and sync services for Tyner’s entire catalog.

McCoy Tyner, who passed away on March 6, 2020, is one of the most respected improvisational jazz musicians and bandleaders in history.

In 1960 and at just 21 years of age, he joined saxophonist John Coltrane as a member of The John Coltrane Quartet, performing on numerous classics including My Favorite Things, A Love Supreme, and more.

Throughout his career, Tyner worked alongside the likes of Quincy Jones, George Benson, Carlos Santana, Stanley Clarke and many others, and he recorded and released nearly 80 albums as a featured artist, bandleader or musician.

McCoy Tyner has been the recipient of five Grammy Awards and a host of other honors.
