Kobalt signs Lionel Richie in global publishing deal

Kobalt has signed multiple Grammy winner Lionel Richie to a global publishing agreement.

MBW understands that the administration deal will cover both Richie’s catalogue and his future compositions.

Richie has grossed more than 100m worldwide album sales during his career, with hits including “All Night Long,” “Hello,” “Truly,” ”Easy,” “Three Times A Lady,” “Dancing On The Ceiling,” “Endless Love,” and “Se La.”

A recipient of four Grammy Awards including Album Of The Year for 1983’s Can’t Slow Down, Richie scored his first UK No.1 album in 23 years in July.

The singer-songwriter’s Definitive Collection hit No.1 after he played a triumphant ‘legend set’ at Glastonbury Festival.

Richie will begin his Las Vegas headlining residency show, “Lionel Richie – All the Hits,” inside The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Wednesday, April 27, 2016.

In 2016, Richie will be honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year.
