Kobalt Music Recordings has hired Silvia Montello as Senior Vice President, Supply Chain and Client Services.
In her new role, Silvia will oversee both digital and physical supply chains for Kobalt Music Recordings and AWAL (Kobalt’s digital services platform), as well as the client management and client services teams.
A 25 year veteran of the music industry, Montello was previously Group SVP, Recordings Operations & Integrations at BMG, and prior to that, was Marketing Director at Universal Music Catalogue, UK division.
Silvia’s arrival at Kobalt coincides with the exit of Pete Dodge, Senior Vice President, Operations & Distribution, who joined Kobalt in 2012 to help establish the label services division.
“I’m very excited to be a joining such a forward-thinking music company.”
Dodge will remain with Kobalt in the short term to assist with the transition process.
Silvia Montello stated, “I’m very excited to be a joining such a forward-thinking music company. Kobalt both believes in putting artists first and develops the truly cutting edge technologies needed to support and develop them in this increasingly digital market environment.”
Paul Hitchman, President of Kobalt Music Recordings, said, “I am very happy to welcome an executive of Silvia’s calibre to Kobalt. Her breadth of knowledge and experience will be invaluable as we continue to build the Kobalt recordings business and roll out new products and services for our artist and label clients.”
Hitchman continued, “On behalf of Kobalt, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Pete Dodge for his many contributions to the development of Kobalt Music Recordings and AWAL, and wish him very well in his future endeavours.”Music Business Worldwide
