Kate Wyn Jones has been hired as Business Development Director at EMI Records in London.
Wyn Jones begins her new role with immediate effect, reporting to EMI Records President Rebecca Allen.
EMI Records said in a media release that Wyn Jones will be responsible for “driving the EMI business forward in exciting new directions”, and that she will be tasked with growing the label’s artists’ brands across the globe.
Wyn Jones initially joined Universal Music UK in 2016 as the company’s Digital Strategy Director.
Leading Universal’s in-house UK digital media agency, she has most recently worked on artist campaigns including The Streets, Andrea Bocelli and Dermot Kennedy.

Prior to joining UMG, Wyn Jones served as Co-head of Entertainment at London media agency the7stars.
In all, before going in-house at Universal, Wyn Jones spent over 10 years in the UK media entertainment sector working across Time Inc and Viacom/MTV, as well as working with numerous music industry clients including Columbia Records and Ministry of Sound.
In 2013, Wyn Jones was awarded The Media Week Award for the media relaunch for Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories.
