Sweden-headquartered royalty-free soundtrack provider Epidemic Sound has appointed Justin Chacona as Vice President of Brand & Marketing, effective in August.
Chacona brings a wealth of experience in brand development and creative marketing, having served as the group Chief Marketing Officer at Polar Electro since 2020.
At Polar Electro, he led a global marketing team across various countries, overseeing global brand initiatives, creative campaigns, social media, public relations, media, growth, CRM, and digital and platform marketing for both the B2B and B2C segments.
Prior to that role, Chacona spent four years at HMD, the exclusive licensee of Nokia phones, as the Head of Global Creative and Campaigns. During his tenure, he played a key role in the Marketing Leadership team, responsible for worldwide brand marketing, creative campaigns, CRM, strategy, and brand activation across all channels and platforms.
Additionally, he developed the global marketing and communications strategy for Nokia phones, covering over 150 markets.
Chacona also previously served as the Marketing Director at Rovio Entertainment, where he led the execution of digital marketing for Animation, Consumer Products, Brand, and Media business units.

According to the press release, he played a key role in the successful release of the first Angry Birds Movie, overseeing global consumer and partner marketing and spearheading a multimillion-dollar promotional campaign that propelled the film to No.1 in over 50 markets, generating over $350 million in box office revenue, Epidemic said.
In his new role at Epidemic Sound, Chacona will be responsible for developing and executing the brand and marketing strategy of the company. He will lead a team of over 40 professionals across various marketing divisions, and oversee Brand/Marketing and Brand PR initiatives, Social Media, Creative, and CRM for both the B2B and B2C segments.

Chacona’s appointment follows the recent addition of Rob Bullough as Global Brand Director at Epidemic Sound in January.
Epidemic also appointed Rikard Herlitz to the role of Chief Technology Officer and Julian Persaud as Chief Commercial Officer in January.
