Julia Craik, Managing Director of The Premises Studios, dies following complications caused by Covid-19

Julia Craik, Managing Director of iconic London recording complex The Premises Studios, has died following complications from what the studio says “seems to have been a severe bout of Covid-19”.

The news was announced by The Premises on social media today (April 21).

Artists that have worked at the studio over the years range from Rihanna and Patti Smith to Arctic Monkeys and Blur.

“Julia was our super-organised big sister for the past 24 years and we will miss her dearly.”

“Very sad to report that Julia Craik, our lovely Managing Director at The Premises Studios, passed away in hospital yesterday morning,” wrote the The Premises in a statement.

“The immediate cause was heart failure following complications from what seems to have been a severe bout of Covid-19.

“Her partner Richard was able to be with her when she died and is of course very distraught.

“We spoke to her last week and although she was obviously in a lot of pain, she and Richard were very hopeful that the worst was over. We are all in shock.

“Julia was our super-organised big sister for the past 24 years and we will miss her dearly.”Music Business Worldwide
