Jonathan Morrish now working with PRS and PPL in the UK

UK publishing and songwriting collection society PRS for Music has announced that Jonathan Morrish is to consult for the company in a communications role.

Popular exec Morrish will be consulting on strategy for both PRS and PPL – the licensing and collection equivalent of PRS for recorded music in the UK.

Morrish was previously Director of PR and Corporate Communications for PPL for eight years, relinquishing the full time role last summer to move into a consultancy position.

The news comes after MBW revealed that PRS has parted ways with its Chief Marketing Officer and Head Of Communications in February.

Morrish started his career in PR in the mid-seventies for CBS Records, subsequently Sony Music, where, in a long career he held a number of UK and international PR positions working with many different artists and on a range of corporate issues.

Prior to joining PPL in 2006, he was Head of Corporate PR at The Outside Organisation for three years.

“I am delighted to be working for PRS for Music in an advisory PR role,” said Jonathan Morrish. “I very much look forward to working with Robert as well as supporting Andy Hind and his team in his new position as Acting Head of Corporate Communications. I shall continue in my consultancy capacity at PPL as the two companies work more and more closely together.”

“I am very pleased that Jonathan has agreed to join PRS where I know his experience and contacts will be very valuable,” said Robert Ashcroft CEO PRS for Music. “He will bring much knowledge and practical benefit to Andy and the whole PR team as well as across the whole company.”Music Business Worldwide
