Young is a music and arts organization, built around a London-based record label, that helps exceptional artists locate and develop their genius.
Young Recordings is looking for highly driven and enthusiastic Project Manager to conceptualise, strategise, and deliver world class release campaigns. Working closely with artists, managers, A&R’s, and label teams, the PM will help the artist to define their vision, communicate it to the wider team and amplify it throughout the campaign.
As the point person for promotion, marketing, sales and international, production, sales, marketing, and overseas staff, you will oversee a global campaign plan for every release. You will project manage all aspects of the campaign, identifying moments that will help to increase exposure and awareness and maximise audience engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with artists and their managers to define the vision and goals for a release campaign.
- Create and execute creative strategies tailored to each artist that help them to amplify their vision whilst also reaching the widest global audience.
- Organise, coordinate, and energise the different parts of effective release campaigns, inspiring campaign teams to work enthusiastically.
- Oversee the ‘bigger picture’ on campaigns and ensure all areas of a campaign are working together.
- Coordinate and facilitate digital / physical releases, setting up releases and ensuring logistical release processes run smoothly and effectively including physical manufacturing and distribution and DSP deliveries and pitching.
- Ensure all campaign deadlines are met including for digital deliveries and DSP pitching and physical manufacturing.
- Work with the physical sales and distribution teams to set physical formats, appropriate pressing quantities, and ensure physical stock is delivered on time.
- Ensure campaign assets are procured in a timely fashion, filed correctly and shared with the global teams – from artwork, DSP/press shots, long and short form video content, DSP assets.
- Create and maintain campaign timelines, briefing teams and sharing release information efficiently.
- Strategise, coordinate and manage the global promo schedules to make the best use of the artists’ time.
- Engage third parties where necessary, and drive and manage those relationships and campaigns to ensure effective work.
- Collaborate with Beggars offices around the world to amplify campaigns domestically in every market.
- Work with the Beggars licensing teams around the world to identify aligned opportunities.
- Create detailed campaign updates and reports with easily digestible headlines to ensure that all results are communicated internally, to engaged third parties and to artist management.
- Create and maintain campaign budgets.
- Work with the Digital team to devise integrated digital campaigns and embrace new technologies, social media trends and their benefits.
- Support the sales teams to coordinate and confirm a strong DSP plan including writing thorough DSP pitching notes and physical retail including writing sales notes to drive streams, pre-orders, and sales
- Coordinate the manufacture of supporting assets including retail posters, stickers, merch etc for retail.
- Work with the Head of Marketing and digital team to plan and implement advertising on your campaigns and analyse advertising and marketing to ensure effectiveness.
- Analyse data including social media and sales data to best plan and manage campaigns.
- Help to create digital or real-world moments that will celebrate or amplify key moments in the campaign.
- Look for new, innovative ways to market and promote our artists and releases.
- Manage promotional and launch events where required.
- Artist liaison and accompanying / organising artists at promo and events where required.
Skills and Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role is essential, ideally within a label, with experience of international campaigns an advantage.
- Experience of working with artists and artist managers.
- Strong organisational and project management skills that combine attention to detail with the ability to clearly communicate campaign goals.
- The ability to juggle multiple projects at different stages of their cycle.
- Used to working closely with creative teams and able to contribute to the development of creative ideas.
- The ability to accept a creative decision and contribute to communicating it, even if it was not your preferred route.
- Competent in managing budgets.
- Proficient at interpreting data and writing engaging project reports.
- Knowledge of and passion for the artists on the Young recordings roster
- Interest in and understanding of digital marketing (advantageous)
- Experience of working with teams in other countries (advantageous)
- Understanding of how artists use current and emerging social media platforms.
- Great communication skills.
