Why this could be your next big break:
Your primary responsibility will be to lead a newly formed Business Development team within WMX, with yourself being one of three dedicated executives.
You will have the opportunity to co-author and lead a new business development strategy for WMX. This will not only enable you to help establish more opportunities for original creative collaborations between our artists and brands, but it will also enable us to grow a media sales business for Warner Music.
Given that WMX is in itself a new proposition at Warner Music, you will have the opportunity to be an integral part of an exciting new venture.
Here you’ll get to:
Work closely with your team along with the SVP, VP and the wider commercial business at Warner to proactively lead new business development for WMX, across three verticals:
1. Talent business – Artist campaigns where a brief is procured from a brand or agency, and we successfully negotiate, close and facilitate the campaign.
2. WMX Creative campaigns – Campaign ideas that originate within WMX, either in response to a brief OR as a result of a proactive approach to a brand or agency.
3. Media sales – Selling WMG controlled advertising inventory to brands and agencies. Either ‘up-selling’ around WMX creative campaigns, responding to a specific media brief or proactively targeting advertisers who may wish to benefit from reaching highly engaged music audiences.
You will help establish a comprehensive and evolving list of priority brands and agencies for the business development team to target.
With support from the wider WMX team you will help establish outstanding sales tools and pitch materials with which to present a compelling and exciting offering from WMG and WMX.
You will work collaboratively with the wider WMX team to establish appropriate market intelligence, artist insight and data with which to support your presentations and pitches.
You will utilise our proprietary audience insight service (Audience Precision) to help support your ideas and pitch responses.
Working alongside the campaign management team you will be responsible for monitoring and contributing to the full life cycle of the brand partnership and ensuring successful completion of projects.
Working closely with existing expertise in the business, our media agency, as well as UPROXX (US), you will help augment a UK media sales operation focused on selling ad display inventory around our artist channels, as well as other forms of digital media.
You will lead a constant, central rolling record of all new business contact and development across the wider team.
You will regularly monitor, assess and augment Warner Music’s sales offering including, but not limited to the artist roster, IP, events, creative assets, plus agency and production services.
You will collaborate with our colleagues from around the world to unearth new opportunities for our UK artists and to share standard methodology.
In addition to securing commercial opportunities for local territory (UK) artists you will help in the acquisition of creative collaboration opportunities with brands for Warner Music’s global artists.

You are a highly motivated and adaptable professional who demonstrates a combination of communication, organisational and people management skills, combined with excellent attention to detail and the ability to see the big picture.
You will be responsible for strategic response to briefs, maximising every commercial opportunity and providing day to day leadership across all our business development efforts.
You understand the importance of being a global business and are capable of utilising or adapting your contact base to maximise commercial and creative opportunity for artists and clients on international scale. Your ability to network allows you to build strong ties with new partners, developing global client partnerships that drive significant business upside.
You will add strength to the strategic business development plan through regular collaboration with the SVP and VP. Where appropriate you will also maintain collaborative relationships with internal leadership, regularly collaborating with label executives, artists and their management and budget holders at brands and agencies on all aspects of our business.

An honours degree qualification in a relevant and or related field.
Proven experience in business development and or a creative content sales role.
