A little bit about our team

The Emerging Markets Regional Marketing Team will ensure excellence in marketing across the region, embedding expertise, driving efficiency at scale and managing the nuances of localisation to deliver cultural impact. The team are accountable for delivering a best in class marketing service across the region which centers creativity while also ensuring consistency in their strategic approach for each artist and optimising campaign performance and the use of budgets. The team will unite marketing resources across Emerging Markets towards shared outcomes and measure success through common metrics.

The Emerging Markets region currently consists of affiliates across Eastern Europe, Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East, Africa and India.

Your role

Dual-reporting to the President, Emerging Markets and VP, EMEA Regional Marketing, you will lead the Emerging Markets Regional Marketing team, driving a shared vision for the marketing function across the region, and overseeing the delivery of exceptional campaigns for our artists.

Here you’ll get to:

Repertoire Export:

  • Support Repertoire Owners to identify and grow domestic artists from within the region, into new global markets (both in region and ex-region).
  • Develop and execute creative, high impact, large scale artist marketing campaigns

Repertoire Import:

  • Oversee all import of repertoire across the region. Utilise the regional marketing budgets to amplify creativity in order to grow WMG’s international market share.
  • Support heads of marketing within each market to deliver on all relevant international projects in their respective territories.
  • Develop and execute high impact, regionally scaled artist marketing campaigns.

Optimised Workflows:

  • Support integration of new teams (i.e. new emerging market ventures) within the WMG marketing ecosystem.
  • Ensure product and process adoption relevant to marketing across the region.
  • Work closely with the A&R and Commercial department at the regional level and provide support to the affiliates to ensure artist development, and reach market share targets and chart positioning
  • Partner with the VP EMEA Regional Marketing to identify areas where regionalisation can further support the creativity and excellence of our EM local teams and implement as required.
  • Establish clear workflows with Global Marketing and other regional marketing teams to support import and export of artists across the WMG ecosystem.

Marketing Excellence:

  • Ensure minimum proficiency of marketing capabilities across the region, utilising scorecards to assess performance and implementing required education and support as needed.

Budget Management:

  • Manage regional Emerging Markets marketing budget.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead a small team of high performing marketeers able to support you in deliver on all of the above.
  • Partner with WMG’s People Team to engage, develop and grow diverse talent across the region and engender an environment that is inclusive and equitable.
About you
  • Experience of working across Emerging Markets in a marketing role
  • Extensive experience in delivering impactful multi-market artist campaigns
  • Ability to think strategically but still execute tactically
  • Exemplary people leader with a clear performance, goal setting focus that drives development and engagement of team
  • A highly creative thinker who also excels at organisation, project management, and decision-making
  • Attention to details and ability to work to deadlines
  • Writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal ability
  • Able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with both creative and business / technology oriented colleagues and partners
  • Previous experience working in international territories is a plus. Must be open to travel
  • Multiple languages with conversational proficiency is a plus
