We are building a better world for music with innovative big data technology that tracks online music sources and translates them into meaningful music consumption reports for royalty collection. The solution we’re building does not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents – it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will be responsible for discovery, delivery and go to market for our future royalty management products with the mission to create a new industry standard for everyone. Your customers will primarily be Performance Rights Organisations (PROs) and Publishers who need to manage copyrights and royalties.
You will deep dive in the music industry and know all there is to know about copyrights, regulations, competition, and customers requirements. You will represent the customer and the music industry among the developers. You will work closely with one or several engineering teams as well as designers, data analysts, data scientists and stakeholders both in and outside the company.
You will set a vision, strategy, and plan for your area, focusing on launching a royalty management product that customers love. You are expected to, together with your peers, support the CPO in setting the Product OKRs, set up OKRs for your area, and execute towards these with no or little direction. You will be supporting the CPO in setting product vision, strategy, and plans for the Product team.
You will need to have knowledge in agile product development, especially Marty Cagan’s dual-track methodologies. You will guide the discovery phase for the royalty cloud, where you together with engineering, designers, data analysts identify what jobs to be done. You will ensure that the hypotheses are validated by real customers. You will ensure that all deliveries are sliced into as small chunks as possible, to speed up delivery and enable us to adjust direction fast.
You will define scope for your products, create product roadmaps, development plans, lead towards definition of done, and set, measure and steer towards KPIs for all deliveries. When the projects move into the delivery phase, you will support the delivering teams and be up to date on status. You will work with product marketing to set a value proposition for your products, and help with generating sales material.
You are a skilled product manager with a passion for delivering user value. You are organised, have attention to detail and the ability to get things done. You love data and you are curious with no prestige – you focus on solving problems and ensure the team succeeds over personal wins. You are a great communicator and seek to understand people before being understood. You have knowledge of copyrights for music, or are a fast learner and have the ability to become a domain expert very fast.
You have at least five years of documented professional experience of working as a product manager or similar in a fast paced tech organisation. You posses the ability to prioritise work that maximises customer value to minimal cost. You have a successful track record of developing products and strategies within deadlines.
You love customers. You are obsessed with your customer, and dedicated to understanding them, building up your knowledge with data. You deliver often, and verify direction on real customers. You understand the importance of disrupting the music industry and how long term solutions might sometimes gain your customer in favour of short term wins.
You focus on problems. You don’t talk about technology or solutions, you spend your time focusing on the customer and their problems. You work with engineering to solve problems. Together. You delegate problems. When delegated to, you make sure to understand the root cause. Your job is to match the best solution with the highest prioritised problem.
You integrate others early.
You work closely with your peers as well as designers, engineering, commercial stakeholders to build a strategy, roadmap and plan for your product area. You integrate analytics and legal when needed. You seek input and knowledge, before you propose a solution. You know that disrupting the music industry is a team sport.
