The A Side: A Day in The Life 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Projects the role has several core functions. You will be expected to apply commercial rigour and provide best practice and support in relation to all aspects of creator activity – both at a local level and internationally – and disseminating this information to international Commercial Directors, who can drive adoption within their own teams.

Playing a key role in UMG‘s priority new release process, you will spearhead an internal global network of territory contacts who can support international influencer campaigns and activate them locally. You will work closely with the Commercial Partnerships and eCommerce teams to advise on how UMG can use creators to drive revenue on a variety of different platforms, using different approaches

You will develop UMG’s internal creator database in tandem with the Commercial Technologies team, both in terms of new features and international adoption, whilst supporting the international catalogue campaign business by devising creator concepts and activating them internationally via your contacts in UMG markets. You will be expected to provide guidance to the Bravado and UMG brands team in relation to all Creator activities that might support either area of the business outside traditional music releases

The B Side: Skills & Experience 
Be Organised
  • Develop and maintain a global network of territory contacts who can support international influencer campaigns and activate them locally 
  • Curate campaign concepts on a weekly basis to feed into label planning calls 
  • Work to tight deadlines as defined by label needs 
  • Attend international label planning meetings and calls 
  • Run monthly Bravado UMG Brands meetings to discuss priority campaigns
Be Analytical
  • Define a global reporting standard and analyse all major creator campaigns, feeding back to labels
  • Benchmark campaign performance and compare against other mediums, platforms and content types
  • Understand the pros and cons of dealing with agencies versus directly
  • Understand the user and commercial nuances between key social media and streaming platforms
  • Advise on payment thresholds and understand what creators should be expected to generate and deliver in return
  • Understand artist fan demographics and media profile and curate creator concepts accordingly 
Be Collaborative
  • Chair a monthly global influencer forum with relevant contacts in the markets in order to share case studies, best practice and the roll out of international campaign support 
  • Work closely with the wider Commercial Affairs team to deliver global partner support, technical innovation and best practice to all UMG markets
  • Work with UMG territories to understand local nuances and be able to advise labels and international marketing teams accordingly 
Be Creative
  • Curate and pitch a tiered series of creator concepts into labels for priority international releases, ranging from direct artist involvement to simple fan gifting 
  • Work with the Commercial Projects team to develop more long-term influencer initiatives – for example influencer-curated releases
  • Create concepts to pitch directly into the UMG Brands team
Person Specification
    • Proven track record in a marketing type role and specifically with creators/influencers
    • Understanding of online campaign measurement metrics – calculating reach, engagement and ultimately success against KPIs
    • Excellent interpersonal skills as this is very much a ‘people-facing role’ 
    • Comprehensive knowledge of all major social media and music platforms
    • Ability to put together reports – both numbers-focussed (i.e Excel) and to be presented in meetings (i.e ppt)
    • Highly organised
  • Demonstrable interest in music
