It has been connecting music with audiences for over 25 years and is recognised as a force of creativity and innovation in design, business, and in the application of ethical values to the music industry, with a unique set of capabilities in music production, distribution, design, e-commerce, and marketing.
The Role
We are expanding our physical distribution business and looking for someone with experience in distribution, catalogue or retail to join our team. This is an exciting time for state51. We have taken on global distribution for Kate Bush’s Fish People label and are extending our network into new territories.
This is a fantastic opportunity within the independent music sector and will suit an experienced, ambitious and hardworking person who has a desire to work with our team to build something special.
In warehouse downtime, you will be required to work on other areas of business operations support, which would include learning about the technical systems we use to manage digital music.
Duties
- Communicating with shops
- Managing relationships with shops and labels
- Collating and fulfilling orders
- Packing, shipping and logistics
- Stock management
- Inventory control
- Warehouse logistics
- Coordinating pick & pack team
- Working with project managers to promote releases
Skills & Experience Preferred
- 2 years working in music distribution or retail
- Strong communicator
- Invested in contemporary music and current buying trends
- Experienced with order management systems (Odoo, ERP etc)
- Knowledge of retailers and buyers at record shops
- Catalogue and inventory management
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and physical traffic
- Experience with couriers and shipping
