We are looking for a Contemporary Music Programming Manager to join our Arts Programming on a full time basis for 20 months.


About the team

The Contemporary Music team curates approximately 150+ contemporary music events a year across a broad musical landscape. These events are a mixture of our own promotions – including the iconic annual Meltdown Festival – and incoming hires.

Role Overview

To work with external promoters to negotiate and confirm a diverse programme of exciting, innovative and engaging contemporary live music events across the Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall. The role is focused on creating new business opportunities by developing relationships with external promoters, managers and agents , maximising the use of the diary for live music events and increasing earned income.

You will manage the process of confirming concerts and overseeing on-sales in tandem with the Head of Contemporary Music. The role works with the Head of Contemporary Music, Contemporary Music Programmer, Programming Assistant (Contemporary Music), Event Managers, Producers, Press and Marketing Managers.

In other organisations equivalent roles may be called Booker, Rentals Manager, General Manager, Partnerships Manager, Business Manager, Business Development Manager, Operations

Southbank Centre

Southbank Centre is Europe’s largest arts centre and one of the UK’s top five visitor attractions, occupying an 11-acre site that sits in the midst of London’s most vibrant cultural quarter on the South Bank of the Thames.

The site has an extraordinary creative and architectural history stretching back to the 1951 Festival of Britain. Southbank Centre is made up of the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and Hayward Gallery as well as being home to the National Poetry Library and the Arts Council Collection.
