Sony Music UK – Junior Streaming Data Analyst (UK)

Our Commercial Sales department are looking for a Junior Streaming Data Analyst to join their busy team.

The Junior Streaming Data Analyst will be responsible for exploiting the wealth of data that we receive from DSPs to inform our Digital Partnerships Team.

In this role, the successful candidate will:
  • Develop a systematic program of reports to better inform the Digital Partnerships Team (and the wider business) on individual campaigns, DSPs and the market as a whole
  • Deliver ad hoc sales/streaming and market analysis requests
  • Be the go to person for the Digital Partnerships team for data driven insights into the market
  • Get to understand the nuances of each DSP with a view to optimise performance on each individual platform
  • Identify opportunities in catalogue – working closely with the Head of Catalogue Streaming – for both short term and long term implementation
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have previous experience working in analytics or a similar field
  • Have previous experience in the music industry or a similar industry, particularly working with a Digital Service Provider (strongly preferred)
  • Have a good understanding of the current landscape of the music industry
  • Be skilled in analytics and highly numerate
  • Be capable of interpreting large data sets and then communicating any findings clearly and concisely
  • Have extensive experience working with all primary Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel – including VBA
  • Experience using Alteryx, Tableau or Business Objects is preferred
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively and confidently
  • Be well organised and able to manage multiple projects to ensure the needs of the company are met in a timely and satisfactory manner
