Sony Music – Manager, Global Business Development & Digital Strategy (UK)

The Manager, Global Business Development & Digital Strategy, based in Central London, will report to the Vice President, Global Business Development & Digital Strategy, and have responsibility for business development and digital strategy activities with multiple global and regional service providers and startups, as well as with several local affiliates across Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

He/She will be a leader in assessing and building the business and commercial frameworks that are foundations for Sony Music Entertainment’s continued growth in the subsequent years.

Specifically, the Manager, Global Business Development & Digital Strategy will:

  • Be responsible for sourcing and analyzing new business opportunities;
  • Work directly with existing and potential partners to negotiate and close deals that positively impact SME’s business, regularly track and benchmark deals performance to ensure objectives are met, and creatively help partners evolve through the changes in the digital music landscape;
  • Serve as point of contact, source of guidance and support resource for regional and local digital teams for a selection of markets in Europe, Africa, Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region;
  • Prepare and coordinate communication to ensure effective information flow, informed decision-making, sharing of best-practices, and, more generally, to communicate digital strategy within the company;
  • Make strategic recommendations regarding new products, licensing opportunities and business models that will deliver new or enhanced revenue streams for SME and SME artists.
Desired Skills and Experience


  • Undergraduate degree required. MBA from a top-tier program preferred but not required;
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in a top-tier management consulting firm and/or in digital media business development or a related capacity ;
  • Very good negotiator with strong business acumen and strategic thinking;
  • Excellent problem-solving, combined with outstanding analytical skills, creativity and interpersonal skills working across multiple cultures;
  • Pro-active, resourceful, pragmatic, organized and efficient ;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Passion for music, digital media and innovation is a plus.
