Songtradr – Senior Digital Copywriter (US)

We are looking for a highly-motivated, tech-savvy content creator with a thorough knowledge of technology and the music industry to join our growing team. Our Senior Digital Copywriter will be responsible for creating content for our social channels, emails, blogs, sales materials as well as existing and new products, to expand Songtradr’s evolving digital footprint and drive awareness to our robust online ecosystem.

The ideal candidate is a creative music lover with 3+ years of SEO and Digital Media experience with both creative and strategic capabilities. In this role, you will collaborate with designers, product teams, marketers, sales professionals, influencers, and industry experts to produce relevant, engaging content that captivates buyers and artists. Excellent writing skills are also a key component of this opportunity.

Main Job Duties

Your role would include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Understanding the audiences (music suppliers: artists/composers/catalogs/labels + music buyers: supervisors/creators/brands) – Tailor content and style of each writing assignment to its purpose
  • Writing for digital consumption – Ability to create high-impact copy that is crisp, and easy to digest (short: ads, slogans, organic content, email, social media + long: webpages, blogs, e-books, presentation decks, product write-ups, and video scripts)
  • Digital optimization and SEO knowledge – Experience using Google Keyword Planner and creating digital content optimized for specific keywords
  • New Business – Copy support with business pitches to win new clients or projects
  • Identifying key messages – Understand and communicate powerfully, the main emotion you want the reader to feel, and the desired outcome of their actions
  • Creativity & Team Support – Ensure any visual elements complement written work by curating images and video or collaborating with creative teams as needed
  • Strategic Planning – Support in the development and execution of messaging and copy strategies that align with objectives
  • Project Scope – Create clear briefs to ensure you understand task objectives
  • Keeping current with industry trends – Implement fresh and exciting angles for digital content
  • Analysis – Review the impact and results of your written work
  • Team Communications – Liaise with stakeholders from set-up to completion, checking in regularly, either by Slack, email, or video
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in Copywriting, SEO, and Digital Marketing
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Public Relations, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the music industry, particularly sync licensing, rights management, or music monetization
  • Impeccable writing skills, including writing in different styles or voice and to other people’s direction
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills to fully understand the project’s needs and wants to develop an effective brief
  • Meticulous editing skills and attention to detail, with the ability to proofread your own and others’ work, applying strong objective thinking
  • Experience working with HTML, WordPress, and content management software (CMS)
  • Solid understanding and experience in social media strategy, paid campaigns, execution, and analytics
  • Highly creative and experienced in identifying target audiences to devise informative and motivating digital campaigns
