Position Summary
Secretly Group and its affiliates seek a Head of International Operations. Ideally the candidate will be based in London and have a thorough understanding of the UK, European & APAC territories. The Head of International Operations will be leading Secretly Group’s international strategy, and report to the VP Operations UK & EU.
The role’s primary mission will be to establish the Group’s footprint in international markets, working closely with our regional teams to execute effective release strategies & maximise label revenue. They should be willing to work flexibly to allow travel and attend live events.
They should have 5+ years’ experience of working in the music industry and be enthusiastic and familiar with Secretly Group & its affiliated labels’ rosters.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a growing team of direct reports in our international offices (Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, London)
- Work closely with the VP of Operations to determine international strategy (UK, EU & APAC) and identify growth opportunities
- Responsible for overseeing regional budgets and ensuring local teams are meeting regional sales targets
- Speak to the key markets to learn the current trends, the state of their markets and how they can be supported
- Provide insight and support to our international teams to develop, execute, and monitor territory-specific marketing and promotion campaigns in close collaboration with the global team
- Help develop the necessary tools and systems for our local teams to work more efficiently and successfully implement campaigns
- Conduct periodical stock management and control of frontline and catalogue releases across the regions
- Collaborate closely with our physical distribution network to boost physical sales
- Strategise with the labels’ digital teams to maximise repertoire performance, and ensure relationships with local DSP offices and contacts are being maintained
- Expand our affiliated labels’ regional networks and hold relationships with key local partners
- Build a cohesive reporting framework for each of the regions and ensure these are distributed with the wider organisation and external partners
- Ensure local administrative and logistic duties are being fulfilled
The Ideal Candidate Demonstrates
- 5+ years’ experience in music
- Languages a plus
- An excellent understanding of the global music markets, with particular focus on Europe and the APAC regions
- Deep knowledge of the physical retail cycle and medium
- Fluent in the digital landscape and analytical tools with an eye to recognise industry trends
- Possess a pristine network and wide range of industry contacts
- Show passion and familiarity with the Secretly Group & its affiliates labels’ rosters
- Excellent communication skills, hands-on-mentality and team spirit
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
- A proven leader in setting direction for and achieving objectives
- A self-starter, used to working independently
- Has excellent interpersonal skills & people management experience
