Secretly Group – Business Affairs Attorney (US)

Secretly Group’s support services company SG Services, Inc. seeks a Business Affairs Attorney for their Brooklyn, NY or Bloomington IN office.

SG Services, Inc. provides Management, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Legal services to affiliated companies operating within the music industry.

These companies include Secretly Group, which is a family of independent record labels (Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, Numero Group, Secretly Canadian,). Secretly Services, Inc. also provides Accounting support to Secretly Publishing, Fort William Artist Management, and Bellwether Properties.

Position Overview:

This position reports to our General Counsel. This role is a full time position in our Business Affairs department. This role can be based in either our Bloomington, IN office or Brooklyn, NY office.

The Business Affairs Attorney will provide support to the General Counsel and handle a variety of assigned legal projects within the Business Affairs department. The primary responsibility of the Business Affairs attorney will be to draft and negotiate contracts across our various businesses.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Publishing agreements
  • One-off master licensing agreements
  • Distribution Agreements
  • Live recording agreements
  • Side Artist Agreements
The ideal candidate will have :
  • Current license to practice law
  • 3-5 years experience in music/entertainment
  • Have strong drafting and organization skills
  • Confidence in negotiating deals
  • Professional attitude with a strong sense of discretion
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Adaptable to fast paced environment with multiple deadlines
