Sacred Bones has had the pleasure to work with seasoned musicians like Patti Smith, Trent Reznor, and Genesis P-Orridge, foster the respective solo musical careers of film directors David Lynch, John Carpenter, and Jim Jarmusch, release careerdefining albums by artists like Zola Jesus, SPELLLING, Molchat Doma, Amen Dunes, and Jenny Hval as well as reissue cult classics such as Mort Garson’s Plantasia and Julee Cruise’s Floating Into the Night.


Position Summary

The Project Manager (PM) will be an integral part of the core label team, serving as the operational conduit between internal departments (label management, production, design, warehouse, social media), as well as external teams (artist management, distribution, publicity, booking agencies etc.). The new PM will work closely with the label manager across all roster and projects.

Candidates must be highly organized individuals, be keen to contribute to the global strategy for all our projects whilst bringing a US centric expertise, and an ability to communicate effectively with teams of different shapes and sizes. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Label Manager in London. The position would ideally be based in our Brooklyn office. This position’s order of operations fluctuates daily so responsibilities will change depending on projects at hand.
The candidate must excel at pivoting from one project to another depending on urgency and help solve problems based on resources and time available.


Responsibilities
  • Oversee, implement and be a point of contact across all core elements of the album campaign cycle as well as the occasional book release
  • Work closely with the Label Manager to retrieve project budgets and sales goals, discuss project planning to include campaign strategies and timelines and the management, coordination and dissemination of all the above.
  • Provide a US promo and marketing expertise and be the person on the ground to spearhead and assist with relating opportunities.
  • Work with both external and internal teams to ensure deadlines are met and all teams have all the information resources, and access they require to excel in their work.
  • Work with distribution partner to ensure that music releases are distributed effectively across various platforms, including streaming services, radio, and physical formats and to discuss marketing campaigns and budgets.
  • Maintain and foster relationships with artists and management teams.
  • Assist with the organization and coordination of promotional events.
  • Analyze data related to sales, streaming, and audience engagement to inform decision-making and optimize marketing strategies.
  • The role is full-time, and will require some out-of-office hours activity, such as attendance at shows, accompanying artists on promotional activities, etc.

The Ideal Candidate Demonstrates
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Effectively manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Background of 2-4 years in music industry preferred, and with US-centric expertise
  • Must be able to demonstrate independent thought and action while operating in sync with a larger team
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the Sacred Bones artist roster
  • Proficiency and experience with platforms such as Shopify, Dropbox and Slack as well as Meta, YouTube, DSPs backends.
