Round Hill Music – Licensing Coordinator (US)

Round Hill Music is a full-service, creative music company with a core focus on music publishing. The company runs a music publishing division, sync and royalty administration, music production library business, a record label and label services division as well as a Nashville songwriter services group with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, and London.

We are in search of a Coordinator to join our Licensing Team in Nashville, TN! The Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to assist in the day to day deliverables, working alongside the Licensing Manager issuing Mechanical-DPD, New Digital Media, and Sample Licenses to records labels on behalf of all of Round Hill’s publishing clients and catalogs. The successful candidate will be a dynamic professional who understands the outbound licensing workflow and can roll up their sleeves to knock out tasks in an orderly and swift pace.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Handle daily administrative tasks and department projects
  • File incoming NOIs from licensees
  • Confirm label copy/administration for New Digital Media and Sample Clearances
  • Approve/draft/issue US & Canadian Mechanical-DPD, New Digital Media, Sample Clearances
  • Track license information within a proprietary database
  • Reach out to labels for incoming Cut Notice release licenses
  • Provide status updates for projects to the Licensing Manager, Administration department and other departments as needed
  • Draft, liaison, and facilitate Sample/Int./Derivative agreements between the clearing agent and the licensee’s pub administrator or business manager
  • Negotiate for sample clearances and resolve license issues
  • Request, monitor & collect remittance of invoice payments
  • Manage executed agreements to ensure deals are processed efficiently through all steps
  • Serve as liaison for the Company in all facets of the mechanical licensing activities
Requirements:
  • 1 -2 years of prior work experience at a record label, music publishing company, or licensing agency, with copyright, Mechanical-DPD, New Digital Media, Sample or related licensing experience
  • Experience in and/or willingness to learn how to work with and manipulate high volume of data
  • A passion for music
  • Multi-tasker extraordinaire with ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work independently, within a team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to self-motivate and be a self-starter who takes responsibility for/ownership of tasks
  • Strong organization skills and high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative and work toward improvements within scope of work
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the department and company, and to proactively create efficient and effective processes to help meet those needs
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to evolving situations
