Round Hill Music – Copyright Manager (US)

Round Hill Music (RHM) is a full-service, creative music company with a core focus on music publishing. The company runs a music publishing division, sync and royalty administration, music production library business, a record label and label services division as well as a Nashville songwriter services group with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, and London.

We are in search of a Copyright Manager to join our Nashville team! The Copyright Manager will be responsible for day-to-day copyright administration duties associated with RHM’s catalog and will ensure works are correctly set up, registered, and claimed. This role will also be responsible for assisting with new client set-up, royalty redirection, and
delegating work to Copyright Coordinators. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of copyright administration experience at a Music Publishing company.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review publishing deals and assist in client setup and royalty redirection (sending and following up on Letters of Direction)
  • Enter works into iMaestro (inclusive of IP, ISRC, ISWC, and other metadata)
  • Register works with domestic and foreign Performing/Mechanical/Digital Rights Societies via CWR and other accepted formats
  • Track Performing/Mechanical/Digital Rights Societies updates to ensure timely and accurate completion • Research copyright inquiries and resolve counterclaims
  • Prepare and issue label copy and publishing credits; maintain Round Hill’s claims on applications such as Music Data Exchange (MDX)
  • Respond and assist writers, publishers, and labels with various inquiries
  • Register works with the US Copyright Office
  • Delegate work to the Copyright Coordinators
  • Experience reading and comprehending purchase, publishing, and administration agreements
  • Experience setting up clients and royalty rates
  • Excellent research and electronic search skills
  • Familiarity with the CMO’s (i.e. ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, HFA, the MLC)
  • Detailed oriented, high degree of accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Hardworking, enthusiastic and results oriented
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and procedures
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be Familiar with with both Mac and Windows operating systems and various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Access)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business or related field (preferred)
  • Management/supervisory experience (preferred)
  •  Knowledge of Sync Rep and Master Rep deals (preferred)
  • Experience with CWR and Acknowledgment files (preferred)
  • Experience with CounterPoint/Vistex’s iMaestro (preferred)
