PRS For Music – Senior Account Manager (UK)

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Account Manager (for a major publisher) to join us for 12 months to assume overall responsibility for PRS for Music’s relationship with a major publisher.

You will drive the continuous improvement of all service offered to them by PRS for Music and by ICE on behalf of PRS for Music.

The Senior Account Manager will possess first class communication skills as you will be accountable for building and maintaining informed and trust based relationships with all key personnel the publisher focusing primarily on their ‘top issues’ escalated to PRS for Music’s Executive Team.

You will ensure first class customer service is delivered, in terms of revenue maximisation, process efficiency, speed & accuracy of distributions and the provision of management information.

Alongside this, you will be expected to devise and negotiate new and improved service levels on behalf of the publisher with PRS for Music Operations, ICE and other 3rd party service providers as required, ensuring these service levels are monitored, measured, tracked and delivered on; for this we are looking for someone who has proven judgement and possesses decision making skills.

The successful candidate will proactively identify, project manage and implement a broad range of initiatives to improve the level of service provided to the publisher by PRS for Music and ICE, to include maximising revenue, process efficiency, speed & accuracy of distributions and the provision of management information, and support initiatives led by colleagues across PRS for Music that impact the publisher.

This role will also involve negotiating successful resolutions to complex policy issues connected to issues such as online residual royalties and licences with DSPs.

The candidate will be responsible for the resolution of cable retransmission issues with societies in Europe and beyond on behalf of a major publisher, liaising closely with International, driving through opportunities for growth and increased efficiency in this area and also produce and circulate a suite of analysis and management information reports including performance against financial and non-financial KPIs.

When called upon, the Senior Account Manager will provide continuous feedback on all operational reports, dashboards and ad hoc requests, such as market share forecasting, to ensure the publisher’s views and requirements are heard and correctly reflected.

Further aspects of this role will also include developing and maintaining efficient and robust processes for tracking and analysing all relevant data in line with established KPIs; identifying and communicating trends, variances and issues, and taking responsibility for regularly and fully updating the publisher on all issues and progress made, along with ensuring they are alerted to potential problems or delays before they arise wherever possible.

The Senior Account Manager must also be prepared to handle issues with global deals such as YouTube and potential regional deals that require liaison with other societies, represent the publisher’s interests on International initiatives as required, including standards and rules and inter-society and publisher tools (relating to CISAC, FastTrack and BIEM and ensure their interests are heard via PRS for Music representatives) at relevant internal meetings and at industry trade body discussions.

PRS for Music is looking for a candidate who has a proven history in successfully managing expectations of key stakeholders, experience in delivering financial forecasts and long term projections and development of data analysis models and possesses a broad industry knowledge, including excellent understanding of mechanical and performing rights administration on an international basis.

We expect applicants to have an excellent understanding of the PRS for Music business in general and have an up-to-date and detailed knowledge of relevant external markets and the way in which these are developing, along with an understanding of what opportunities they might provide.

Possessing a holistic understanding and knowledge of collecting societies’ operations and legal framework, and the challenges facing collecting societies and the collecting society network is preferred, as well as a detailed understanding and knowledge of the music industry including rights and revenue flows, copyright law and legislation (across Europe) and technical developments.

Applicants must have an awareness of PRS for Music’s current relationships with partner or potential partner societies and be highly computer literate.

It is preferable that candidates are educated to degree level, hold a CCAB qualification and are highly computer literate.
