As a leader in global rights management at the heart of the UK’s music industry, PPL ensures that those who invest their time, talent and money to make recorded music are compensated and recognised when their music is used by businesses or broadcast on TV, radio or online.
We place our 90,000 members and 360,000 licensee customers at the heart of what we do.
PPL are undertaking a large scale transformation programme, to enhance the business and technology processes and systems which support the services we provide to our record company and performer members.
As part of REMIX, we created a work stream that has established a formal Data Governance structure at PPL, to ensure that the needs of ‘data stakeholders’ across the business are recognised and protected during system and process changes, and to identify and manage the data improvement initiatives that are required for successful transformation and improved operations.
What you’ll be doing…
You’ll be working with the Head of Insight and Innovation, taking ownership for leading the Data Governance & Quality work stream of PPL’s REMIX programme, embedding an effective Data Governance Office at PPL, and leading PPL’s preparations for the implementation of GDPR in 2018.
You’ll ensure that the needs of ‘data stakeholders’ across the business are met during system and process changes, as well as identifying and managing the data improvement initiatives that are required for us to achieve a successful transformation and improved operations moving forward.
You’ll apply your proven expertise and deep knowledge of best practice to define ‘what good looks like’ for Data Governance at PPL, including the creation and agreement of key documentation such as data policies and standards.
As well as influencing a virtual matrix of business ‘Data Stewards’, you’ll be managing a Data Improvement Analyst, in order to drive data improvement initiatives.
What you’ll need…
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven, pro-active, and well-organised individual to define and deliver Data Governance for PPL, and make a tangible difference to the service we provide to our 90,000 performer and rights holder members.
In order to do this you will need proven experience in leading Data Governance activities, excellent communication and influencing skills in order to bring our stakeholders on the journey, and the ability to hit the ground running and quickly learn the nuances of our complex data landscape.
You’ll be working closely with stakeholders across the business, so it is critical that you have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, have credibility in front of an executive audience, and are passionate about coaching and educating others on the importance of Data Governance.
