peermusic – Senior Royalty Analyst (US)

Peermusic is seeking a Senior Royalty Analyst based in Burbank, CA. In this roll you will be assisting our Global Royalty Team in processing and analyzing royalty data.

Job Description
  • Maintaining relationships and resolving inquires with U.S and international clients regarding royalty statements, payments, and all other matters
  • Load Electronic statements into Royalty system
  • Research data to ensure the accurate posting of royalties
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and semi-annual royalty reconciliations
  • Prepare mechanical Income Tracking reports for the discovery of unpaid or underpaid royalties
  • Maintain Weekly SoundScan report
  • Review monthly and quarterly royalty reports and researching variances
  • Deliver client statements semi-annually
  • Analyze large volumes of data and organize into meaningful reports
  • Maintain and archive department files
  • Various ad-hoc projects and reports as required
  • Meet all deadlines and any other duties set by supervisor
Work Experience
  • 4-year college degree preferably in Music Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Royalties, Income Tracking or Copyright & Licensing
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, with in-depth knowledge of Excel
  • Familiarity with royalty contracts, royalty calculations and royalty software a plus
  • Experience with SQL-related applications is preferred, but not required
Knowledge/Skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong analytical aptitude and be comfortable working with financial data, calculations, spreadsheets
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel is required, demonstrating experience with vLookup, Pivot Tables, and various other formulas and functions.

  • Great organizational skills with the ability to prioritize based on an evolving workload
  • Highly motivated and with a desire to work in a team environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills both verbally and written
  • Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to learn fast and retain detailed information and instructions
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and effectively follow through under pressure and/or tight deadlines
