Peermusic is looking for a Global Royalty Analyst based in New York.
Responsibilities:
- Perform desk-top audits, ensuring contracts are accurately implemented
- Prepare income tracking reports to verify accuracy of income collected for mechanical, performance, digital, and any other royalties
- Develop and apply standard tools and reports, while having the curiosity and initiative to generate innovative analysis
- Assist in design and development of told and dashboards for insights and data visualization
- Conduct in-depth research to ensure the accurate posting of royalties
- Analyze large volumes of data and organize into meaningful reports
- Meet all deadlines and any other duties set by supervisor
- Various ad-hoc projects and reports as required
- Support the royalty team on various royalty close activities
- Data standardization/normalization
Qualifications:
- 4-year college degree preferably in Music Business, Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in copyright, royalty, income tracking, or as a data analyst within the music industry
- Demonstrated experience in analysis and report preparation
- Proficiency with MS Office products, with expert knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of database(SQL)/BI software or Tableau is preferred
- Familiarity with royalty contracts, royalty calculations and royalty software a plus
Knowledge/skills:
- Analytical aptitude; comfortable working with financial data, calculations, spreadsheets
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and retain detailed information and instructions
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and balance work between multiple projects
- Highly motivated and with a desire to work in a team environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills both verbally and written
- Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
- Attention to detail
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and effectively follow through under pressure and/or tight deadlines
