Partisan Records – Director of Production (US)

Partisan Records is seeking an experienced Director of Production to join its US team, based at its New York office in Williamsburg.

Applicants should have experience building and maintaining digital operational systems and thrive within a dynamic working environment. Experience with physical production is an advantage.

Key responsibilities include:

Digital Supply Chain Management
  • Identifying best CMS technology for the label’s needs
  • Building CMS for internal use
  • Assembly of metadata and label copy
  • Digital encoding, ISRC and UPC generation
  • Product deliveries to distribution partners
  • Managing digital metadata
  • Soundexchange/neighbouring rights registrations
  • Digital archiving of music and artwork
Physical Supply Chain Management
  • Managing relationships with physical production partners
  • Working with US and UK label managers to manage global production schedule in line with release schedule
  • Liaising between production partners and designer to ensure all assets meet necessary deadlines
  • Overseeing delivery of masters
  • Arranging vinyl cuts, approving test pressings
  • Physical archiving of music and artwork
Warehousing & Logistics Management
  • Warehouse and inventory management
  • Freight, shipping and logistics for stock movements – domestic and international
  • Setting up direct customers, seeing through orders end-to-end
  • Liaising with finance department on administration of costs and invoices
Required skills and experience:
  • Minimum 5+ years within production in a record label or distributor environment, preferably digital
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple projects at one time
  • Keen interest in systems technology, especially CMS
  • Experience building and operation information systems
  • Clear thinker with ability to solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive “can-do” attitude
  • Interest in creative packaging and/or passion for music production and merchandise is an advantage
