Since 1978 Daniel Miller has signed and developed an amazing array of innovative artists, including Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Depeche Mode, Plastikman and Moby, and shown commitment to numerous highly influential musicians and songwriters. Job Description
Mute seeks a full-time Digital Production & D2C Manager for its North American office based in New York, NY, currently working in the office twice a week. The Digital Production & D2C Manager will report directly to the Director of Production & Retail Marketing. The position is responsible for overseeing the production process of Mute’s digital products, as well as managing direct-to-consumer sales channels and supporting the day-to-day operations of the label. The ideal candidate will have an extraordinary attention to detail with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The salary for this role is $40,000-$50,000 annually depending on experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage web-store and Bandcamp, including setting up and updating releases, overseeing customer service, and generating monthly sales reports
- Manage stock at the D2C warehouse, including coordinating international and domestic stock shipments to D2C and generating monthly damages report
- Work closely with marketing and social media teams to promote D2C incentives including coordination of campaign launch assets
- Manage all aspects of digital production and metadata, including uploading digital products, ensuring both market metadata standards and label/distribution QC are met and claiming videos for monetization
- Supervise all digital assets and ensure appropriate filing and archiving, including management of DISCO servicing
- Order stock for artist stores, tour, physical archive and promos for all staff and artist needs
- Oversee Evidence and ensure quality reporting related to consumption, sales and playlisting
- Assist in supervising intern when responsibilities fall under position’s purview
Qualifications
- A passion for music and a deep understanding of the industry
- At least 1 year of experience in production and/or D2C sales
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to multi-task across multiple projects at one time
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with inventory management systems
- Experience with Music Glue and Bandcamp or other e-commerce platforms is a plus
