Music Ally is best known for providing information to the music business on the fast evolving digital landscape. In addition we have also built up a reputation over recent years as a leading provider of professional vocational training services for the global music industry, particularly around digital marketing. We are looking for an experienced, talented, entrepreneurial and driven individual to help us evolve this side of our business.
The successful candidate should have an understanding of the commercial training and career development market within the international music industry, and also the higher education landscape, particularly in the UK and potentially other English speaking countries.
An awareness of new training and learning/development schemes including UK apprenticeships and/or accreditation schemes and how they are structured would also be beneficial. We are looking for someone to work with us to develop partnerships and commercial opportunities in these areas.
In addition Music Ally works with creative entrepreneurs both within and outside of formal education. We run an entrepreneur technology platform in the UK at www.leanbusinessplatform.com which helps turn ideas into practice and would like to promote this platform and approach to the wider creative entrepreneurial community, through partnerships with academia, large organisations, funding bodies, and through our own courses.
Finally we are looking to expand our training and education content and materials, across online platforms and also module development for in-situ educational and development contexts, bringing industry relevant information to new audiences.
This content will include ongoing and accredited vocational development for organisations; modules for academic partners; courses and content for bands and entry level music industry employees; and short bite-sized video content for our own channels and other online platforms.
Our focus remains the intersection of music and technology; as well as the evolving channels for communication and engagement between artist and fan. Our mission is to build an educational and development framework around this to help to position the global music business for sustained future growth.
The successful candidate should have proven experience in learning environments as well as business development; strong communication and presentation skills; commercial awareness; and be highly motivated to achieve clear targets and objectives. Relevant music industry and/or music industry training/education experience is also desirable.
The role will be based in Music Ally’s office near Old St/Angel in London and will focus on helping to develop the broad activities described above.
Relevant experience in the digital music business
Line manager experience
Commercial experience delivering ROI against targets and/or proven ability to find funding from brands/sponsors, public sector or other agencies
Excellent communication skills – engage and influence multiple stakeholders to build strong working relationships
Proactive approach – creatively explore opportunities through customer engagement
Project management – ability to manage multiple projects, preferably with experience of using Asana
Creative – keen to always explore how to use information and insights generated by Music Ally to enhance and engage learning audiences at multiple levels
