Digital Coordinator and A&R Assistant | MAHOGANY

This is a rare opportunity to work directly with Mahogany’s senior leadership, A&R and label team in a role that will fully immerse you across all key departments during a major growth phase for the company.

We maintain a start-up mentality at Mahogany, evolving as the music industry does, so this will be a demanding role, but there are very few roles which will allow you to gain such a broad spectrum of frontline experience across a&r, production, audience development and more.

Given some of the technical and data driven elements of this role, prior music industry experience within a label, distributor, DSP or management company is required.


OVERVIEW

The role underpins the backbone of the Mahogany artist services and digital ecosystem. Coordinating and supporting end-to-end processes that ensure we consistently deliver on our commitments to artists, clients and partners through booking, creative, production, distribution, communication and accounting phases.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collating and connecting A&R submissions and resources.
  • Supporting the A&R team, booking selected talent, preparing and distributing key information for stakeholders and ensuring clean and consistent communications with artists, management, labels and publishers.
  • Supporting the production team, on Mahogany format productions, through the booking, scheduling, coordination and budget administration.
  • Overseeing the post-production workflow to ensure assets are delivered according to schedule – liaising between video editors, sound engineers, managers and labels to ensure content is delivered in a timely manner.
  • Connecting everything here requires exceptional organisational skills to manage comprehensive databases of audio-visual files, mixes, masters and contracts within the Mahogany ecosystem.
  • Manage the in-house CRM system for the Mahogany Songs distribution service – processing applications, undertaking quality assurance checks on artwork, masters and metadata, and preparing MP3s packages for the weekly A&R meetings
  • Managing the client (artist) service portal – responding to artist questions, and elevating issues to relevant internal departments, and maintaining/updating the artist FAQ lists.
  • Registering songs with publishers, collection societies and third-party partners.
  • Supporting the Label & Marketing Manager through scheduling, processing and administration of release campaigns and audience development initiatives.
  • Work with the online and YouTube ops teams to deliver and optimise new content uploads including video, audio, lyric and ancillary content formatting.
  • Preparing regular internal reports, with information gathered from relevant departments to present in operational meetings

SKILLS
  • Previous proven experience working at/with a record label, management company, label services company or distributor is essential
  • A strong understanding of YouTube Analytics, ChartMetric, Microsoft Excel and music industry CMS tools
  • A keen understanding of music industry trends. With a clear passion for helping artists connect with fans in the modern age
  • Ability to create high quality presentations in Keynote, Pitch or similar
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and/or InDesign is required.
  • Knowledge of Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro is an advantage.
  • UK Driving License is an advantage but not essential.
