In a nutshell…

/ You love great music & sound: creating it, dissecting it, searching for it. As a member of our Creative Team, you will be producing iconic music & sound for our clients, which include many blue-chip and Fortune 100 companies as well as enduring entertainment brands. The backgrounds of our team members range from beat-making and sound design to songwriting and orchestration, and we are tied together by our passion for creating some of the best music & sound in our field. With your abilities as a music producer, strong creative & technical skills and ease in presenting big ideas to clients, you’ll be helping us create and deliver world-class sonic identities and music for our clients in a hybrid remote/in-person environment. This position will work out of the New York City office.

/ You’ll be taking ownership of production of music & sound deliverables as directed by your team’s Creative Lead, and with the support of your team’s Coordinating Producer you’ll run the day-to-day creative & logistical operations of several projects at one time. Any given day could include developing unique creative directions for a sonic identity; producing talent in-studio (or remotely) to capture iconic performances of our work; presenting & discussing our work with a Fortune 100 CMO or Creative Director; tracking the use of budget & resources on your projects to maintain timelines profitability; and finding new ways to approach how we solve a client challenge, with the goal always to stoke innovation and help our clients stay connected to culture.

About The CREATIVE Department

/ The Creative Team at Made Music Studio is the engine that drives our creative output. We work collaboratively to develop creative concepts and ideas that spark great original music & sound, and then bring that vision to life, from initial sketch to final mix. As one of the leading global sonic studios in the world, our role is to deliver consistently excellent, boundary-pushing & record-credible work and remain curious about emerging technologies, platforms, media and culture so that what we do resonates with all audiences.

Your Core Responsibilities…

/ Running day-to-day production on several client projects – juggling multiple timelines, managing stakeholders, tracking budgets, ensuring work is prepared and delivered on-time.
/ Audio production – command of multiple DAWs with confidence in editing, tracking & mixing in Pro Tools sessions, producing artists in-studio, collaborating in real-time with composers and sound designers, experience translating non-musical feedback into the musical ways we evolve our work.
/ Creative communication & positioning – leading brainstorms and concept development; designing how we communicate our ideas with clients (whether in a presentation, a video, a live workshop etc); steering demo development and taking the lead on music direction; entrepreneurial & visionary thinking around how our work can show up in the world; actively shaping how we tell the stories of our work in order to resonate with all audiences.
/ Communication – whether with other MMS team members, freelance talent or our clients… to always provide clear & timely communication that keeps projects on-track. Strong written & speaking communication skills. An ability/willingness to both lead and follow at the right moments as collaboration is our key to success.
/ Budgets/profitability – managing budget spend on projects, ensuring receipt of key paperwork from talent and delivering creative work that meets client requirements around costs, business terms and use-cases.

You Have….

/ ~5 years of experience in music/audio production for clients preferred, with specific experience creating, producing and/or managing the production of original music for media, advertising, sonic branding or other clients of this nature. Personal experience performing music, composing, producing, songwriting, arranging, or sound designing is also desired.
/ Expertise in ProTools as it is key to our collaborative workflow. Strong skills as a music editor and ease with packaging audio for clients.
/ Ability to juggle multiple projects, budgets and timelines concurrently.
/ Passion for connecting with people, ability to clearly communicate creative feedback and notes with music creators, and ease presenting work to internal & external clients.
/ If you’re interested in experiential audio, location-based entertainment and/or follow what’s happening in global music markets, that’s a big plus (though not required for this role).

Salary

/ $60,000 – $70,000 depending on experience

/ This is a full-time position based out of the NYC office. While we are working mostly remotely, expect to commute into our office in the Financial District for collaborative hours about once a week.
/ 28 PTO days (along with bonus incentives to use your PTO days) and 5 sick days, no matter your experience level or seniority.
