Kobalt – Junior Analyst, Writer & Publishing Relations (UK)

We are seeking a Junior Analyst to join Kobalt‘s market-leading Writer & Publisher Relations department. You will become a key member of the Client Analysis team – a target-driven data group that provides Kobalt’s clients and internal stakeholders with the most transparent and accurate reporting in the music industry. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable working with big data and analyzing key trends.

This position will work on a variety of projects to produce clear and concise reporting for internal and external contacts. A key part of this role will include analyzing performance and supporting the accurate administration of priority deals, monitoring revenues against forecasts and proactively flagging any issues found. WHAT DOES A CLIENT ANALYST AT KOBALT DO?
  • Use SQL and Athena to query the Kobalt database and generate accurate, clean data
  • Use Tableau to create visualizations of this data to provide clarity to internal stakeholders
  • Use Excel to produce ad-hoc analyses and reports for internal and external contacts, including key clients and senior executives
  • Analyze and present key trends clearly and concisely using all tools and solutions available
  • Monitor the processes involved in and analyze the financial performance of priority catalogue
  • Provide support to the department with large, complex client requests
  • Manage high priority client requests timely and efficiently

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • Relevant working experience generating and analyzing large sets of data, and demonstrating strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Experience with SQL and Athena extraction with the ability to modify scripts and run queries independently
  • Ability to learn, adapt to and lead the way with new tools and platforms as they are integrated into Kobalt’s operations
  • Sensitivity to confidential information and material
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions when needed
  • Strong in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced proficiency in Excel to analyze large datasets)
