Role Overview:
The Product Manager is accountable for a project’s development from the point of music delivery, through to the execution of the marketing campaign, its commercial release and beyond. As the key point of contact on a project for our artists, managers, and cross-functional teams throughout the entire process, the Product Manager plays a crucial role in a project’s success. The role demands someone that is highly organized, and is both a strategic thinker and a detail-oriented project manager, with a strong understanding of the creative, logistical and commercial sides of music marketing and distribution.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Campaign Planning and Execution:

  • Own the flow of a project through all campaign phases (creative world-building, strategy development, campaign rollout, regular post-launch reviews), ensuring that each department delivers on time and within allocated budgets, to the highest standard and in line with the overall campaign vision.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Marketing, engaging them on overall marketing strategy and topline targets and goals.
  • Execute marketing plans by delegating tasks across departments, ensuring each team delivers their components as part of the bigger campaign vision, maintaining alignment with the project’s creative and commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with department leads to ensure consistent execution of campaign strategy, adapting to feedback and data insights as the campaign progresses.

2. Project Management:

  • Collaborate with creative, marketing and operations teams to determine and manage campaign timelines, delegating appropriately to ensure that all creative and production deadlines are met for a successful campaign launch.
  • Manage campaign budgets, tracking expenses through P+Ls and spend trackers to ensure projects meet financial goals.
  • Coordinate with the operations team on all supply chain needs, including asset delivery, metadata, distribution setup, physical formats, and pricing.
  • Work closely with analytics teams to monitor campaign performance, leveraging data to adjust strategies for maximum impact.
  • Set up and manage internal resources for each campaign, using project management tools like Asana, Slack, Google Drive, Dropbox and Notion to keep teams organized and aligned.

3. Communications:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between artists, managers, internal teams, and external partners (including marketing, distribution, PR, and more) for overall campaign success.
  • Disseminate campaign updates and key information, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned on project goals, timelines, and expectations.
  • Compile and maintain marketing plan documents, asset depositories, and project files to ensure easy access for all departments.
  • Lead regular meetings with both internal and external teams, setting agendas in advance, documenting meeting notes, and ensuring follow-through on next steps.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years in product or project management at a record label, leading artist campaigns
  • Ability to create and manage release timelines (physical and digital), ensuring all assets and deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ability to deliver written marketing plans for each project that covers all facets of the campaign (digital, social, retail, outdoor, live, sync, etc)
  • Experience working with artists, managers, booking agents, and cross-functional internal teams (marketing, creative, commercial, A&R, production).
  • Familiarity with data and analytics tools (Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists, Chartmetric, SoundCharts, YouTube Analytics, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously.
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Clear thinker with ability to solve problems, whilst highlighting potential problems when necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive “can-do” attitude
  • Preferred: familiarity with Asana, Notion, Airtable

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Flexible health care plan options
  • Paid holidays including end of year closure
  • Paid Time Off policy, which includes separate sick days bank
  • Paid maternal / parental leave after birth, adoption or surrogacy
  • 401K, Medical, Dental and Health Insurance
