IDOL – Head of Key Accounts and Platform Relations (FR)

IDOL is a fully independent digital distributor founded in 2006 with offices in Paris, London and New York – and the below is for a Paris-based position.

Constantly expanding, the company now counts 30 people and over the years has become one of the major specialists in the global digital market providing full worldwide distribution services to labels such as Infiné, No Format, Godmode, Bromance, Awful Records, Proper Music Group, Glitterbeat, Jalapeno, Colette, Record Makers, Local Action, Nova Records, Tricatel, and Syllart – to name of few.

In parallel, IDOL also operates as a technology provider for 3rd party record labels and digital distributors, such as Because Music, Ditto Music, Domino, Kompakt, Wagram Music, Select, and many more..


This is a newly created position consisting of managing the key accounts and platform relations service in the aim to guarantee the development and optimization of the catalogue turnover towards our key clients, e.g. iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Rhapsody, YouTube, Qobuz, Amazon, Google Play, BeatPort, Bleep, Boomkat, Juno, …

Main responsibilities
  • Managing and developing the staff in charge of the digital distribution operations (relation with the platforms, retail marketing, channel management, community management, playlist strategy….)
  • Developing & optimizing the turnover of IDOL’s existing catalogue
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with the digital platforms (network expansion, competitive intelligence, licensing agreement negotiations,..)
  • Optimizing the retail marketing approaches/strategies, including devising and implementing new strategies to maximize exposure and opportunities for our catalogue
  • Coordinating the activity and its processes with the Content Management and Label Relations services, with other services such as (IT, administration, finance) and with the other offices involved in the digital distribution operations


  • A minimum of 10 years experience in the music industry including an extensive experience in the digital distribution
  • Extensive knowledge of the digital platforms and new ways of consuming music
  • Staff management experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • A multi-task profile with strong entrepreneurial spirit and an in-depth knowledge in digital operations and web marketing
