Vice President of Synchronization – Advertising

Hipgnosis Songs Group (LA/NYC)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Proactively pitch our catalog with a primary concentration on Advertisements
  • Bring in meaningful opportunities and help drive revenue growth for the department
  • Source relevant music and deliver playlists to clients based on creative briefs in a timely manner
  • Service signings/releases/writers to our network of synch contacts
  • Procure writing opportunities for our roster of writers and clients
  • Identify marketing opportunities for new or existing clients
  • Keep up with new developments, rates and trends in advertising market
  • Help prepare and implement marketing initiatives for catalog
  • Seek out and build new relationships with key industry contacts as well as maintain existing relationships in the ad
  • space
  • Keep up with new signings/releases and have a good working knowledge of the current roster and the back catalogue
  • Attend internal meetings with A&R/writers/managers
  • Arrange and attend external client meetings
  • Present activity report in monthly meeting
  • Interact with/source music for our various sub-publishing partners when they need music for international ads

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum of seven to ten years of experience in advertising music
  • An established industry contact list
  • A respect/appreciation for music of all genres
  • A love of popular culture and arts
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, confident, organized self-starter, and enthusiastic team player
  • The ability to excel under pressure in a very busy work environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Understanding that deals might be done outside normal office hours

DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE, ADVERTISING [London]

THE ROLE

  • Running the London-based creative pitching of Hipgnosis’ songs, with a particular focus on Advertising.
  • Delivering on the creative strategy of Hipgnosis’ in-house, pro-active synch pitching team.
  • Providing support on a creative level to all of Hipgnosis’ international offices and our network of Synch agents around the world.
  • Managing the workflow of advertising-focused music briefs, providing top level service to music supervisors, creatives, producers, agencies and directors alike.
  • Generate & secure a broad range of opportunities for Hipgnosis’ songs, with a primary focus on Advertising.
  • Collaborate with Hipgnosis’ various publishing partners, to ensure that they are all fully-equipped on a creative level with the songs that we share.
  • Contribute to the ongoing creative curation of Hipgnosis’ catalogue, from a Synch perspective.
  • Drive the advertising-focused Synch marketing & servicing of Hipgnosis’ catalogue of songs.
  • Support Hipgnosis’ music team in the creation of new repertoire & re-working of songs from across our catalogue.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong existing network within the Advertising & Music Supervision industries.
  • Detailed understanding of the global Synch market – on both a creative and a commercial level.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Considerable experience in the pitching of songs for Film / TV / Advertising / Games.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Disco and other Synch-focused creative platforms.
  • Endless passion for – and extensive knowledge of – the history of recorded music.

  • Generate & secure a broad range of opportunities for Hipgnosis’ songs, within Film, TV & Games.
  • Manage the creative pitching of Hipgnosis’ songs into Film, TV & Games.
  • Respond to creative Synch briefs, providing top level service to studios, music supervisors, creatives, producers, directors and broadcasters alike.
  • Identify and pursue forthcoming Synch opportunities for Hipgnosis’ songs, with a particular focus on Film & TV.
  • Support Hipgnosis’ international offices, our publishing partners – and our network of sync agents around the world, on a creative level.
  • Contribute to the ongoing creative curation of Hipgnosis’ catalogue, from a Synch perspective.
  • Support Hipgnosis’ music team in the creation of new repertoire & re-working of songs from across our catalogue.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Good existing network within the Film, TV & Music Supervision industries.
  • Strong understanding of the global sync market on both a creative and a commercial level.
