First Access – Temporary Finance Assistant (UK)

Purpose of Role

The purpose of the role is to provide support to a small Finance Department, specifically with day to day transactions and administrative routines in relation to invoices.

  • Receive and record invoices from suppliers
  • Obtain receipts or other verification when accounts were paid
  • Process invoices and attach that information to the relative project or department for job costing and financial statement purposes
  • Make sure invoices are approved in time to meet established payment cycle
  • Remit payments on invoices as directed by the Accounts Payable manager
  • Work in accordance with the payment process outlined by the Accounts Payable manager
  • Reconcile supplier accounts
  • Liaise with UK & US staff on ad hoc basis for payment enquiries
  • Provide general assistance as directed with all department finance tasks e.g. reconciliations, expense claim administration, as directed by the Head of Finance
Skills and Experience required

The ideal candidate will be someone looking for their first experience within the finance department in the music industry.

Experience/Qualifications Required:
  • Good academic record
  • Understanding of basic bookkeeping
  • Knowledge of accounts payable principles
  • Ability to comprehend and manage financial records
  • Data entry skills
  • Talent for numerical coding
  • Sufficient understanding of accounting concepts to properly code expenses
  • IT proficient, with skills in Outlook, Excel and Word

  • Working hours: 10.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work additional hours as required
