Job Summary

The Director, Operations & Production performs day-to-day management of smooth product creation according to set protocols, efficient product distribution, and successful market delivery.

In this role, the Director will give technical onboarding and continued support to Firebird partners as they work to correctly deliver creative assets to precise specifications.

This position will ensure that products are properly established and archived within company systems, and that products are distributed to the marketplace on time and according to industry standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • New Partner Set Up
    • Responsible for onboarding new partners to the Firebird Label Services system, including the Firebird Music Portal which facilitates product set-up and distribution
    • Manage the ingestion of artist and label music catalog into Firebird’s distribution pipeline
  • Product Set Up
    • Oversee and optimize the flow of data into Firebird’s new release system
    • Liaise with external partners, internal Project Directors, and A&R Administrators, to maximize product opportunities such scheduling the release of singles, EPs, albums, videos, physical goods, and more
    • Update internal team as well as external partners with new release and on-sale schedules
    • Keep a keen eye out for potential release traffic jams, system overloads, and conflicts of interest
    • Ensure that metadata is collected, comprehensive, accurate, and entered into Firebird’s centralized database
    • Establish a permissions-restricted system by which partners can share and access assets and data
    • Establish and respond to the “Firebird Support Hotline,” assisting self-service partners as they set up their own releases and distribution
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure products are properly delivered to the appropriate distribution channels and work to quickly rectify issues should they arise
    • Perform site checks to ensure products are brought to market correctly and according to project expectations
    • Request product takedowns as necessary and confirm compliance

Qualifications
  • You have 5+ years of experience in recorded music product management and/or operations, music distribution, or music management operations
  • Have a strong understanding of metadata, new release production, recorded music sales and streaming, and delivering to DSPs
  • You are well versed in current (as well as recent past) popular music across all genres, cultural trends, and music industry operations
  • You analyze situations and formulate actionable paths forward
  • You are detail oriented and able to take a broad overview simultaneously
  • You have a track-record of productive relationships with artists, managers, and independent labels
  • You are a collaborative and supportive teammate
  • You are a clear and effective communicator with excellent writing skills
  • You are a results-oriented self-starter… a starter and a closer
  • You are well organized and flexible
  • You are a problem solver who’s able to multi-task and stay cool under pressure
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred
