Facebook Music Initiative (FMI) is Facebook’s internal music program. The FMI Manager of Music Operations & Administration will work with the Music Development Manager on managing all aspects of metadata and administrative operations for the program.

  • Work closely with the Music Development Manager, Artist Coordinators, Music Coordinators, and internal and external artists to manage receipt and processing of all new and approved music data and documentation. Identify metadata collection and distribution best practices and implement streamlined work flow when needed
  • Oversee data integrity and consistency and maintain industry highest quality standards for data. Anticipate and plan for future data needs, implementing new protocols when necessary
  • Directly manage FMI’s administrative team and provide clear support, professional development and guidance as needed
  • Act as liaison and provide guidance to FMI’s music production team and cross-functional/external teams on establishing music (production and usage) data collection protocols
  • Manage the administrative content of FMI music products, establishing workflows and schedules for regular releases and/or updates
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual music production recaps, music usage tracking, artist budget reports, DAM’s content analysis, and other administration as needed
  • Work closely with Artist Coordinators, Music Coordinators, Purchasing, and Legal to oversee new supplier procurement, new artist contracts, contract renewals, and purchase orders for artists
  • Work with the Music Development Manager and Sound Design Director on all administrative aspects of special projects to promote awareness and appreciation of music within FB, as well as artist special events


  • Experience in interpersonal communication
  • Experience in multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer experience (Including MS Outlook, Airtable, Word, Excel, Quip, Dropbox)
  • 4+ years administrative management experience
  • Experience in communicating and working with artists and creatives


  • Extensive knowledge of music
  • Experience with Quickbase or Cortex
  • Experience working in an arts/music organization
