Position Summary/Responsibilities

The Head of Accounting & Business Administration will have responsibilities and perform functions within numerous areas of the business, including general accounting, AP/AR, budgeting, financial reporting, timely monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, audit management, financial planning and analysis, forecasting, royalties administration, personnel administration, asset administration, systems implementation and other general business matters. The primary responsibilities will be to ensure the efficient and accurate management of the company’s accounting and financial information and administrative systems and to provide the Partners, investors, and other team members with clear decision-making tools and visibility into the financial performance of the business. Beyond this, it is important for any candidate to understand that the company is a new and dynamic with a developing and flat organizational structure. As such, our team members will be asked to perform a wide range of functions, sometimes contributing in areas that are not necessarily specified in their job description.


The Head of Accounting & Business Administration reports directly to the Partners responsible for accounting, finance and general administration. External and internal staff will support this position as necessary and feasible.


Flexible. Colleagues are working virtually and currently based in Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, London and other locations.

  • 4 or more years of accounting in a recorded music or other music ecosystem company.
  • Working knowledge of royalty accounting and other nuances of music industry finance and accounting.
  • CPA is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Capability to manage external accounting firms, other professional service providers and staff, especially as the company grows.
  • Strong understanding of and appreciation for the independent ethos.
  • Naturally curious, creative problem solver who can diagnose situations and is resourceful and collaborative about solutions.
  • Self-starter, leader / doer with the capacity to work independently.
  • Highest integrity and work ethic.
  • Excellent leader and team player with strong communication skills.
