The Sync and Licensing team works across all publishing catalogues within Concord Music, including Boosey & Hawkes, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and our extensive pop catalogue. From understanding a script, to suggesting music with the right lyrics to accurately convey a story, ensuring the song fits the demographic of the relevant media, this team take great pride in only pitching the right music. This is a hard-working, friendly team who constantly look for innovate ways to obtain syncs for our frontline artists and much-loved back catalogues.
We seek a highly motivated addition to the UK Sync team who will need to be able to operate effectively between the different genres of music. The post will be full time in a lively, friendly and fast-paced environment based in our central London office, reporting to SVP, International Sync.
Responsibilities
Position Purpose:
Responsible for proactively working to place the wide-ranging Concord Music Publishing roster within the worlds of TV/film/advertising/games and to identify new sync opportunities across all media. Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and marketing the roster in new and innovative ways. Works under general supervision.
What you’ll do:
- Become an expert across all Concord Publishing music catalogues, to enthuse clients about the diversity and quality of our repertoire and to be their go to person for all musical needs.
- To proactively seek out sync opportunities for Concord Publishing repertoire and negotiate fees and terms across all media.
- To proactively drive opportunities through networking, maintaining, and developing relationships with potential clients
- Proactively create opportunities to create new songs with Concord signed writers.
- Respond to music briefs in a timely manner.
- Assist with music clearance when required.
- Provide creative support to other Concord office and sub-publishers.
- Attend concerts and events on behalf of the company with clients.
- Be able to brief in artists for commissioned cover versions.
Outline of Specific Functions
- To learn about Concord’s songwriters in order to gain an extensive knowledge of Concord’s Music Publishing catalogue to be able to respond to briefs and quote for tracks accurately and efficiently.
- To understand the abilities of Concord’s Music Publishing frontline artists and be able to put forward the relevant artists for commissioned new recordings and songs and build the Concords bespoke music business project year-on-year.
- Organise and attend external meetings during and outside of working hours, as well as taking clients to live events to maintain relationships with existing clients and build relationships with new ones.
- To work globally with fellow Concord colleagues and sub-publishers to help achieve the needs of the business.
- Maintain regular communication with our international sub publisher network – assist with their briefs, make sure they’re up to date on new releases, curate regular themed playlists for them and generally keep them up to speed
- To contribute ideas towards client events, and to help bring them successfully to fruition. From virtual events such as listening parties and larger scale external events, including showcases and screenings.
- To create decks to present our frontline roster, composer one sheets, as well as proposals for new creative projects.
Qualifications
What you’ll need:
- 5+ years in a music synchronization environment with proven results in placing music across all media forms.
- Highly organized with a strong administrative foundation.
- Have experience working with composers on bespoke composition briefs.
- A respectable contact base.
- An enthusiastic, proactive person, that takes initiative and can work within a team.
*This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.
