LICENSING ASSOCIATE

Position Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to manage a high volume of publishing and recorded music licensing requests in the UK & Europe, with responsibility from initial enquiry to contract and payment stage, working across all media types. Works under moderate supervision.


What you’ll do
  • Respond to queries from clients in a timely manner.
  • Negotiate fees, secure approvals and issue quotes.
  • Input data and run reports with close attention to detail.
  • Research and communicate accurate rights information.
  • Draft contracts, respond to redlines and prepare final versions for signature.
  • Manage invoice process to ensure payments are promptly received.
  • Assist in improving processes and strategies at the direction of department leadership.
  • Perform any other duties and tasks related to the department’s role and responsibilities that might be assigned by the team’s management from time to time.

What you’ll need to succeed
  • Minimum of 2 years of synchronisation experience, preferably at a music publisher or record label.
  • Knowledge of music licensing and copyright concepts.
  • Experience providing a high level of customer service, including handling high-volume correspondence and prioritising projects effectively while adhering to short deadlines and working well under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership for tasks with a pro-active, can do attitude.
  • Highly organised and detail oriented with excellent data-entry, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain external relationships.
  • Highly proficient in various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Access)
  • Handles and safeguards highly confidential and sensitive or proprietary information.
  • BA in Music related field preferred.
