BMG is opening a new Latin America hub in Mexico and we’re looking to build our team. As the first new international music company of the streaming age, we do things a little differently – putting the interests of artists and songwriters at the heart of all we do.

Senior Director, Marketing

The Senior Director of Marketing at BMG Mexico is responsible for creating campaigns that drive maximum exposure to a targeted consumer base that results in maximizing growth for our artists’ fan bases and their repertoire. The desired candidate will have extensive experience leading the marketing department in the music industry and have knowledge of marketing tools to breakthrough an artist in this ever-changing industry through traditional marketing, digital and social media platforms.

This position reports directly to the CCO and will co-lead the marketing efforts of the region for both Latin and Anglo repertoire.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Create and drive brand strategy for each artist on the roster
  • Design short and long-term marketing plans for artists in terms of overall brand awareness, releases, touring, merchandising and brand partnerships, etc.
  • Co-Lead marketing team along-side VP Repertoire & Marketing in strategy development, planning meetings and consumer acquisition
  • Direct and oversee day-to-day functions of marketing support staff while providing leadership and guidance to increase productivity
  • Direct the strategic and cost-efficient use of marketing budgets with strong ROI
  • Lead creative process and marketing opportunities to help support each artist’s individual brand
  • Steer brainstorming, strategic, and tactical planning meetings to provide cross-functional synergy
  • Analyze market conditions and marketing plan effectiveness on an ongoing basis, adjusting in real time as necessary
  • Develop strong professional working relationships across A&R, operations, finance, senior management, artists, artist managers and touring booking agents
  • Effectively manage all third-party partners including marketing consultants, PR consultants, video production companies, photographers, etc.
  • Coordinate appearances and live performances for artists

  • Expertise in global marketing strategies, digital marketing tools and social media platforms.
  • Vast experience in the music industry, including Latin and international Marketing.
  • Strong connections in Latin artist development community including both social media and traditional media outlets.
  • Ability to understand of diverse data sets and capacity to translate them into actionable marketing plans that drive awareness, fan engagement and ultimately revenue growth.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Strong relationship with digital partners.
  • Fully bilingual in Spanish and English.

Plus, not a must: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant field.
