BMG – Senior Coordinator, Copyright Administration (US)

This position supports the Senior Director of Copyright Administration with various functions related to the administration of BMG’s repertoire including, but not limited to, data updates (including, but not limited to song, royalty client and royalty rate data), rights research, royalty reporting and analysis.

Your Profile

  • An interest in music publishing and music publishing administration
  • Be comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Be comfortable handling a high volume of varying and sometimes complex data entry
  • Have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to track and follow through on multiple concurrent projects to completion
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Have strong analytic and problem solving skills

What You’ll Be Doing

Data Maintenance & Cleanup

  • Handle data updates and cleanup (e.g. IP, client, rate data) with a focus on client and rate cleanup required resulting from client inquiries (e.g. via Royalty Services) or internally identified business needs.
  • Manage Data Maintenance inquiry inbox and conduct preliminary review of all new inquiries to assess and define scope, size, and urgency.

Suspense and Calculation Error Account Tracking

  • Monitor and clear amounts from Suspense and Error for US repertoire in accordance with established reduction targets.

Information Service

Review, research and provide timely responses to rights queries and information requests. Including, but not limited to those from:

  • BMG US business functions (e.g. Royalty Processing, Synch/Marketing, Business Affairs, Creative.)
  • BMG writers and clients.
  • BMG sub-publishers and affiliates.
  • Business partners (e.g. Hal Leonard.)
  • Performing/Mechanical rights societies.
  • 3rd party writers and publishers.

Miscellaneous Information Service Projects

Customer Relations

Assist in maintaining and developing the relationships with admin customers and partners. Including, but not limited to:

  • Writers/clients.
  • Performing rights organizations.
  • Co-publishers.
  • Industry organizations.

Miscellaneous

  • Engage in and handle other ongoing processes or ad-hoc projects as business needs dictate or as assigned by supervisor.

Supervision of temporary employees and interns as necessary

Must-Haves

  • Be proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • MS Excel & Word, iMaestro (a plus, not required), SQL (a plus, not required)
  • Have strong analytic and problem solving skills
