We are hiring! We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Catalogue Recordings team at our London office!
YOUR MISSION AT BMG
BMG Catalogue is the fastest-growing catalogue department of any record company in the UK. With a team comprising approx. 50 people, this is a fast-paced department with a wide remit. As part of the World Circuit & Trojan repertoire team, you would be responsible for producing brand new releases & reissues in physical & digital formats, as well as getting involved in marketing initiatives and social media activity for the labels and their artists.
As a Product Manager you will need to be organised and adaptable, react quickly to the demands of the role and be able to execute multiple projects simultaneously. You will be a strong communicator and able to liaise effectively with the Marketing, Licensing, Sales and Design teams as well as with artist managers and, sometimes, directly with artists.
Objectives of the role:
To prepare and manage both physical and digital releases. To work with the Director of Repertoire and Marketing Manager in implementing our marketing and release plans. To oversee and create content for social media channels belonging to World Circuit and related artists.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Management:
- Create a production deadline timetable for new releases, ensuring that products are on-track for the agreed release date.
- Liaise with Production team to gather all manufacturing quotes and ensure correct templates are issued to designers.
- Carry out internet, catalogue and photo library research where needed
- Ensure the correct internal and external clearance has been obtained for images for all formats of releases
- Co-ordinate designs, label copy, sleevenotes, photos and artwork with designers
- Organise mastering and delivery of all relevant audio formats in the correct specs to factory
- Proof-read material from both internal and external designers, including album artwork.
- Check and approve all artwork and audio / audio-visual masters
- Manage / oversee all of the admin around new releases including creating sales sheets, updating the department release schedule, ensuring that all new releases are set up in ‘Capture’, ‘Release’ and ‘Store’ and submitted on time for preorders, uploading packshots, audio and videos into BMG’s asset management system
- Generate ISRCs, barcodes and cat numbers for new releases
- Set up products on D2C and organise pre-saves ahead of announcement dates, assist with creating and maintaining LinkFire links
- Create and maintain sales tools including sales sheets, presenters and catalogues
Marketing:
- Create and maintain a comprehensive social media plan for WC and focus artists on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok
- Work with the Marketing Manager on strategy and updates to World Circuit’s audio and audio-visual playlists
- Work with the Marketing Manager to oversee the delivery of new visual content for YouTube & Social promotion
- Update copy and imagery on the WC website when necessary
- Support the Director of Repertoire Management and Marketing Manager on strategy / timelines / creative / assets
General Administration / A&R Administration:
- Respond to enquiries from public and third parties on social media and via website contact form
- Co-ordinate artist, studio and session musician sessions and paperwork
- Book travel and accommodation for artist promo trips

YOUR PROFILE:
- 2 years’ experience in Product Management at a record label
- Experience in writing copy and creating content for social media channels
- Efficiency, organisation, multi-tasking, communication, attention to detail, positive attitude.
- Microsoft Office suite, Excel proficiency
- Music and record industry developments.
It’s a plus if you also have…
- Knowledge of wide range of music.
- Physical and digital marketing.
- Ability to speak French and/or Spanish
- Basic photoshop, Microsoft Teams, Zoom
- Social media and tech.
