As General Manager of BMG Mexico, you will be entrusted with establishing and overseeing BMG Mexico’s operation and HUB for Latin America. You will develop local talents and acquire catalogs in publishing and recorded music while collaborating with BMG’s global artist and writers’ network and colleagues around the world.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building and developing the Mexico business within BMG’s global framework.
- Building the domestic artist roster across both Publishing & Recorded Music.
- Overseeing and managing local Catalog Acquisitions.
- Cultivating strong relationships with artist managers, artists and partners for BMG Mexico.
- Summarizing recommended actions for superiors.
- Identifying new trends in the media world and adapting them for our business.
- Establishing a forward-thinking local music team structure within an international matrix structure.
- Overseeing the process and creative/business decisions for BMG Mexico.
- Attending and supporting live shows, creative actions and talent scouting.
Must Haves
- You have extensive relevant experience in a similar role in the music, entertainment, and/or media industry, ideally in publishing.
- You have a deep understanding of the music value chain and in-depth knowledge of the music business and prominent artists within the Latin American market.
- You have exceptional communication skills and excel in collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, including international teams.
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset and strive to create a respectful and collaborative work environment that maximizes success.
- You thrive in a fast-paced setting and have a proven track record in business development and establishing new divisions/departments.
- You enjoy juggling a high volume of tasks and setting priorities.
- You are fluent in English and Spanish, both written and oral.
It’s also a plus (not a must) if you have a degree in business, music, media or another related field.
