Big Beat Records – Manager/Director, Digital Marketing (US)

Job Description:
  • Work with artists, managers, marketing and key label executives in order to develop compelling and powerful online marketing strategies for artists and singles on Atlantic and the label’s associated labels
  • Work with the Big Beat core team to develop long term audience acquisition and engagement strategies that place Big Beat Records at the center of the electronic music community
  • Assist in brainstorming and implementing exciting new online content (exclusive audio and video content, contests), optimized for each distribution network/channel
  • Develop and manage relationships with influential individuals, networks and start ups (online, on mobile, and on streaming properties) + seek out promotional opportunities both at the artist and label level.
  • Implement email marketing strategies at the both the artist and the label level; inclusive of both fan recruitment and also engagement through email marketing
  • Curate and maintain label & artist playlists across relevant streaming platforms with a focus on audience acquisition campaigns
  • Provide ideas for websites, contests, mini-sites and media promotions to maximize artist visibility online, with measured KPIs to validate success of each campaign
  • Work closely with artists and artist management to ensure requests and expectations are handled intelligently and carried out effectively
  • Attend and contribute to all related company meetings in connection with assigned projects, and provide dept. head with timely feedback and follow-up regarding any action items
  • Prepare regularly-required online marketing summaries and plans
  • Assist in the creation of artist and label editorial and content calendars.
Required Competencies/Skills:
  • Broad knowledge of contemporary music scene and lifestyle
  • Full awareness of where these music and lifestyle communities live online
  • Understanding of interactive technologies and communication tools including email marketing, SEO/SEM, social networks, content marketing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of popular graphic design applications including Photoshop/ImageReady/Final Cut/iMovie and other similar tools
  • Working knowledge of HTML
  • Knowledge of standard office programs including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment on short deadlines
  • Experience with digital marketing analytics tools

Special Requirements/Preferences:
  • 2-5 years of digital marketing experience
  • 2-4 years of music industry experience preferred; other related experience considered
Education Required:
  • BS in Marketing, Communications, MIS/CIS, or similar
