WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
An English speaker preferably with a fluency in a Nordic language, with a background in Music and ideally knowledge of the Nordic Television Production Market. You will be part of the Audio Network family, but specifically part of a close-knit Sales Team. A bunch of music enthusiasts (artists, DJs, producers etc) the team are pretty progressive in their approach to what we do! Working remotely and/or based in our awesome Hatton Garden office in London, you’ll spend your time between here and making regular trips to the Nordic countries to pitch to clients and take part in industry events.
THE ROLE
Your day to day will consist of putting together music briefs and presenting/pitching our music to clients, as well as analysing user data to drive business with existing clients. You will also be spending time researching the market and finding new clients to target and will proactively reach out and engage prospective (selected) clients. The role also includes administrative duties involved in account managing clients and dealing with music licences.
As a Music Consultant, you’ll participate and contribute in weekly and monthly team meetings, providing insight and guidance into how working hours are spent. You’ll bring with you a deep understanding of Broadcast and TV Production and its community in the Nordics. Understanding how music helps to tell stories and is synced in TV programming is crucial. A creative problem solver, you’ll also be able to grasp data, using it to help guide how you work. You will be working with some of the highest value TV content there is and will manage existing creative relationships as well as building new relationships with producers and editors from Broadcasters and production companies, ensuring they know where to go when they want good service, and good music.
You’ll get to know the catalogue, the artists, producers and composers we work with so that you’re able to pitch the right tracks every time. You’ll feedback to our music team letting them know any gaps in the catalogue – and any hot spot too!
If you spot a creative opportunity whether that be in terms of licensing or a marketing idea, you’ll have the initiative to jump on it and give it wings.
SPECIAL SKILLS
We are looking for a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a sync position at a music a company, you need to know music, love TV content and know which production companies make which programming. Music moves you, you understand how and why it moves others, and you know how to find music for and communicate music to clients. You’re confident, can create compelling pitches, and communicate your ideas articulately.
Solid client facing experience is something you’ll have bags of. Presenting and networking are second nature to you; you know many people across the business, particularly within the Television Production and Broadcast space within the Nordic countries.
We’re after someone special; someone with spark, initiative and creative flare. Someone with ideas to challenge themselves and the team to think – outside and around the box. Maybe you’ll be a whiz at pitching, or have you spent years working in production or television and understand how the shoe fits from a clients’ perspective.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within sync / publishing / music supervision
- Existing relationships within the Nordic Television production and broadcast community
- Experienced in pitching music to creatives and production teams
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise and respond to changing demands
- Proactive, creative and solution-oriented approach and takes initiative to improve way of working
